1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the CitizenReady application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CitizenReady is a mobile application designed to help users prepare for the United States Citizenship (Naturalization) Test. The App provides study tools including flashcards, speech practice, handwriting practice, and tracing exercises based on the official USCIS 100 civics questions. The App offers bilingual support in English and Chinese.

3. Educational Purpose Only

The App is provided for educational and study purposes only. While we strive to keep all content accurate and up to date, CitizenReady does not guarantee that its content reflects the most current version of the USCIS naturalization test. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USCIS or the U.S. government.

Political information such as the names of current elected officials (senators, representatives, governor) is retrieved using artificial intelligence and may not always be completely accurate. You should verify this information independently before your citizenship interview.

4. Use of Artificial Intelligence

The App uses OpenAI's artificial intelligence services for the following features:

Speech transcription: When you use the Speech Practice mode, your recorded audio is sent to OpenAI's servers to be transcribed into text.
Answer evaluation: Your transcribed answers are evaluated by an AI model to determine correctness and provide feedback.
Political data lookup: When you grant location access, the App uses AI to look up the current elected officials for your state.

AI-generated content may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying any information provided by the App, particularly answers related to current political officials.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
Not use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content through the speech recording feature.
Not use automated tools to access or scrape the App's services.

6. Intellectual Property

The App's design, code, and original content are the property of CitizenReady. The 100 civics questions used in the App are sourced from publicly available USCIS materials and are in the public domain.

7. No Account Required

The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number. Your study progress is stored locally on your device.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, including AI-generated responses.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CitizenReady and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, any reliance on information provided by the App during your citizenship test preparation.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
